Comfort

CAN I BORROW SOME COMFORT?

Of all created comforts, God is the lender; you are the borrower, not the owner. -Rutherford

Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ. 2 Corinthians 1:3-5

In all of the comforts God affords us we ought to give Him thanks. Thanks for the air we breathe. Thanks for the water we drink. Thanks for the Air Conditioning. Thanks for the cars we ride in. Thanks for the friends we have. Thanks, for the Word of God He has given. Thanks for the church to worship and pray. Thanks for the job He has given. We have a lot to be thankful for! If we ask for more comfort, according to God’s Word, He will give it!

COMFORT IN YOUR MOMENTS OF DISTRESS

Turning to anything or anyone other than the Lord leads us in to the way death.

There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. Proverbs 14:12

Some people turn to drugs and alcohol while others turn to psychological means to attempt to find comfort in their moment of distress. Neither of these ways will help nor will anything or anyone outside of the Lord Jesus! He is our help, our hope, and our comfort! He is our help when it seems helpless. He is our hope when things seem hopeless. He brings comfort in our times of turbulence!

What are you placing your comfort in on this second day of January?

Comfort comes with Him near!

Of all created comforts, God is the lender; you are the borrower, not the owner. -Rutherford

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10

If there is one thing that brings comfort in my life; it is knowing the Lord is with me! It’s not a right that I have; it is one of the many gifts God gives to His children! I don’t know what you are going through but I know the Lord is there right beside you ready to walk with you! So get up and go the way He has laid out for you with a boldness knowing He will, strengthen, help, and uphold you in that journey!
