I NEED TO GIVE HOW?

The problem with our giving is that we give the widow's mite, but not with the widow's spirit. –Anonymous

And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing. And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury: Mark 12:42-43

I have been hooking up some sound equipment at our church over the past few days. I needed some wires so I call the sound shop where we get most of our equipment and asked him for a certain wire. The next day one of the ladies at church went and picked up the stuff I had asked the guy to get. I went today to finish up and the wire I had asked for was wrong. So I got back in the car and took it back. I got to the store and said, “You gave me the wrong cord.” With a bewildered look on his face He said, “You asked for a female cord.” I looked at it and said, “That’s not a female cord.” Needless to say I was wrong because I didn’t know the terminology of sound equipment.

Such is our giving to the Lord. We don’t understand how we are to give. We are not to give out of abundance but out of faith. We need to give like the widow did with her whole heart. So won’t you GET UP, GET READY, and GOT TO CHURCH this morning ready to learn how to give?

Who needs Jesus?

When you say a situation or a person is hopeless, you are slamming the door in the face of God. –Allen

But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. Matthew 19:26

Have you ever ridden the church bus with un-churched kids? You know the ones that are dirty from Friday’s events on the play ground, the ones that have smell about them, and those that don’t know how to act in church. They all have a soul in need of salvation! But let me remind you of something real quick, so does the educated, well paid, smelling good socialite that sits across from you during lunch!

There is hope for the rich and poor in the world! So don’t neglect the poor just because the rich may smell better, give a bigger tithe, or knows how to take a bath for Sunday service! The rich and poor need Jesus to save them!

Be reminded of what James tells us under the inspiration of God: But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors. James 2:9
